Trichostema lanceolatum, a dicot in the family Lamiaceae, is an annual herb that is native to California and is also found outside of California, but is confined to western North America (Cal Flora), or Washington, Oregon, and California (USDA). It is found in almost all counties in California. Note the droplets adhering to the hairs on the plant (see full-size photo).
The plant is in the mint family (Lamiaceae), in the genus bluecurls, which is obviously a good name for it.
