Charlie graced our tent for dinner, and asked for seconds,
so the cook takes full credit for the invite back.
("Yeah, right! Good fantasy, Nelson!" yell all the gang.)

This is what we are looking for: horns in the sage.
This one was on Long Ridge, in Waterfall Canyon. One of a set of 4 bucks.
Judged good, not great. Waited for a better one.

Craig got a good one

This was my very first spot-and-stalk, and was done entirely alone. I felt that this was my greatest hunting accomplishment, and marked a great stride over my first year on the Bolton, when I did not believe that deer could hide in the sage and did not believe in looking out farther than you could shoot. A real education.

The two together make for quite a sight.

Life in the tent, out of the wind and cold: it can be good.

David thinks is it cold but Bill thinks it is balmy.

Bill has yet another bright idea when it comes to coffee.

The territory has great beauty. These are aspens growing in Waterfall Canyon.
