Journal Club 2018

The meeting date is the second Tuesday of the month and the time is 6:30 pm for food and cases. Noah has observed that we either have to start the Journal (ie, end cases) by 7:30 pm or change the name to Cases Club. Late-comers will be requested to save their cases until after Journal Club. If you cannot attend, please email the host at least a day in advance, as this helps them to plan the food. If less than 24 hrs, please call.

February was hosted by Bob, who filed this report: Dinner included a Syrian lamb stew, saffron rice pilaf and green beans of course accompanied by a green salad and raspberry sponge cake for dessert (I am not as big a chocolate fan as Nelson). Attending were Relton, Hillary, Lisa, Becky, Bill, Noah,Josh and me. Eric was to attend but had a disabling back spasm that day and couldn’t make it. We got through the December journal and had some of the usual interesting conversation about all sorts of things.

We could not find anybody for August, David was out of town, so we did not meet.

Mat and Nancy hosted, With wine and cheese in the gazebo and thenWe moved into the dining room for a great meal of beef, cheese ravioli, salad, as well as chocolate cake and homemade chocolate chip cookies.The Journal only had one great article, an algorithmic approach to subungual tumors, so the table conversation often descended into chaos. Mat would like to add Igor Immerman from UCSF, Hillary led a discussion that did not support his nomination, with a few voices pro and a few voices con. No resolution was achieved.
